Turbo Grafx-16

This game system was made by NEC and released sometime around 1988. In Japan it was released as the PC-Engine. It was the first system to have CD-ROM capabilities, plus in addition have Hu-Cards (game carts). The games are fantastic, with good graphics, incredible sound, and great playability. Unfortunely the console never gained much popularity here in the US, but was a mega hit in Japan. This is the reason why most of the game ROMs on the web today are Japanese. This is not a major problem in most platform and space shooter type games, the only drawback being the RPG's. Unless of course you can read Japanese :-P

Magic Engine v91 (registered) This is possibly the best emulator ever written. Not only does it support the Turbo Grafx-16 games, but also the CD-ROMs. It has blazing speed and the clearest sound of any emulator on the web. It is totally menu driven and setup is simple.

Turbo ROMs!

Neutopia II If you liked the Zelda games for the Nintendo, then you'll love this one. A major "clone" of the Zelda series with the same gameplay and simular storyline. Graphics and sounds are good and gameplay is enjoyable. A must have if you like these type of games.
